What is a PFarm?

A PFarm is your private family vault — the main container for your photos, people, stories, and documents. Think of it as your family's home base. You can create multiple PFarms if you manage more than one family branch.

What's the difference between a PFamily, PSilo, and PHarvest?

A PFamily is a branch of your family tree — like "The Hanson Side" or "Mom's Family." A PSilo is a collection bucket inside a PFamily — like "Summer Reunions" or "Grandpa's Letters." A PHarvest is a specific event or album inside a PSilo — like "1998 Reunion Photos."

Is the Seedling (free) plan really free forever?

Yes. The Seedling plan is free with no time limit. It includes 1 PFarm, up to 3 family members, basic photo uploads, and access to the public records search. No credit card required.

How do I cancel my subscription?

On iPhone: go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Pfotos. On the web: go to your Account page inside the app and tap "Manage subscription." Your data is never deleted when you cancel — you just return to the Seedling free plan.

Are my family photos private?

Yes. Your PFarm and everything in it is completely private. Only people you explicitly invite can see your photos and family data. Living people are always private — no exceptions. Historical records can optionally be shared to the public commons, but only if you choose to.

What is the public commons?

The public commons is a free, searchable index of historical family records contributed by users. Basic public record information — names, dates, birthplaces — for people who have passed. Anyone can search it, no account needed. You control what you contribute.

How do I import a GEDCOM file?

GEDCOM import is available on paid plans (Sapling and above). Go to the Import page from the Actions tab, select your .ged file, and follow the steps. We'll map the family relationships automatically. You can export GEDCOM too from the same page.

How do storage achievements work?

As you build your family archive — uploading photos, adding people, completing your profile — you earn achievements that unlock bonus storage on top of your plan's base limit. Your Account page shows all available achievements and your progress.

I forgot which email I signed up with. How do I find my account?

Contact us at support@pfotos.app with your name and approximate sign-up date. We support Apple Sign-In, Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo — try each one if you're not sure which you used.

How do I request my data be deleted?

Go to your Account page → "Delete or pause account" → "Request account deletion." All your data is permanently removed within 30 days. This cannot be undone.

The app isn't loading or something looks broken. What should I do?

Try closing and reopening the app first. If it's still broken, contact us via chat or email with a description of what you were doing and what you saw. A screenshot helps a lot.
